Schedule

DAY 1

Depending on the flight schedule, breakfast, lunch or free dinner at your expense (we can organise it for you if needs be)

You will arrive in Paris and travel by coach to Normandy.

Guided tour of an oyster farm near Arromanches followed by an oyster tasting session. If the tide conditions enables it,  you can also visit the oyster parks at sea.

Evening meal and overnight stay in a hotel in Normandy.

DAY 2

Breakfast is provided in the hotel.

Guided tour of the D Day Landing Beaches: the site of Pointe du Hoc, a place that has remained inchanged since the bombardments linked to the landing. Visit the German Cemetery of La Cambe, where more than 21,500 German soldiers rest in peace, then visit the American Cemetery of Omaha Beach, place of remembrance and respect of the sacrifice of the American soldiers.

A packed lunch is provided for your midday meal.

Sand-surfing activity along the beaches of Normandy (depending on the tide and weather conditions).

Dinner and overnight stay in your hotel in Normandy.

DAY 3

Breakfast is provided in the hotel.

Free visit of the Caen Memorial: known as a museum built to promote peace,  it is also recognized as the most important memorial monument of the Second World War

A packed lunch is provided for your midday meal.

In the afternoon, you will have a guided tour of the Ducal castle “Caen, city of William the Conqueror”: built in 1060, it is one of the largest castles in Europe (5.5 hectares). Then panoramic tour of the city of Caen by bus.

Dinner and overnight stay in your hotel in Normandy.

DAY 4

Breakfast is provided in the hotel.

Free visit of the cheese plant E. Graindorge, which offers a total immersion in the cheese factory and the discovery of the cheese workshops. Then tasting of 4 A.O.P cheeses at the “Cheese bar”

A packed lunch is provided for your midday meal.

Guided tour of a distillery to discover the methods used to fabricate apple juice, cider and calvados.  Followed by an open-air tree climbing activity: suspension bridges, zip lines, climbing …

Dinner and overnight accommodation in your hotel in Normandy.

DAY 5

Breakfast is provided in the hotel.

Coach journey to Mont-St-Michel, a famous rocky island of rises about 80m above sea level, classified as a Historical Monument and World Heritage Site by Unesco. You will be given a guided tour of the island’s beautiful Abbey that dominates the bay, and contains a series of cell, chapels and gardens.

A packed lunch is provided for your midday meal.

Cross the Bay with a guide (depending on the tides) and comments on the phenomenon of tides, polders, salt meadows, quicksand …

Then, you can visit the village of Mont St Michel and its ramparts which offer an exceptional view on the village and on the bay.

Evening meal and overnight stay in a Youth Hostel in Brittany.

DAY 6

Breakfast is provided in the youth hostel.

Journey to Chambord, in the Loire Valley.

A packed lunch is provided for your midday meal.

Guided tour of Château de Chambord, an architectural masterpiece of the Renaissance era, built by François 1st and the largest castle in the Loire Valley.

Dinner and overnight stay in a hostel in the Loire Valley.

DAY 7

Breakfast provided in the youth hostel.

Free visit of the Beauval Zoo, which offers the largest animal diversity in France: 10,000 animals representing 600 species on more than 40 hectares (pandas, koalas, gorillas, okapis, manatees …)

A packed lunch is provided for your midday meal.

Continuation of the visit of the zoo. Journey back to Paris in the evening.

DAY 8

Breakfast at the youth hostel.

Guided tour of the Chateau de Versailles, built in the seventeenth century and former residence of three kings of France in the past.

A packed lunch is provided for your midday meal.

Climb to the top of the Eiffel Tower. Then, visit the Quai Branly museum, dedicated to non-Western arts, civilizations and world heritage, or the Musée d’Orsay, a former railway station transformed into a museum that covers the period between the mid-nineteenth century and the beginning of the Twentieth century.

DAY 9

Breakfast at the youth hostel.

Explora’s free visit to the Cité des Sciences, an permanent and interactive exhibition on sound, images, light … and a scientific workshop.

A packed lunch is provided for your midday meal.

A boat trip on the Seine that allows a change of perspective on the Parisian monuments located in the heart of the capital.

Jour 10

Breakfast at the youth hostel.

Day in Disneyland Paris®. Journey to Disney World through two parks: Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios Park

DAY 11

Breakfast at the youth hostel.

Guided bus tour of Rungis Market, the largest fresh produce market in the world. Then some free time to visit Paris at your own pace.

A packed lunch is provided for your midday meal.

In the afternoon, a guided tour of the Louvre Museum, the largest art museum in the world.
