Program

DAY 1

Depending on the flight schedule, breakfast, lunch and/or evening meals can be organised for you as an extra optional service.

You shall arrive in Berlin and are driven to your youth hostel

Walking tour of Berlin Mitte: Berlin’s historic district where you will discover all the emblematic squares and monuments of the both the Second World War and the Cold War. You will pass in front of the Reichstag Palace, seat of the Parliament of the Federal Republic of Germany and the theatre of the darker and most historical moments of the country’s past; the Brandenburg Gate, symbol of the city, originally an integral part of the Berlin Wall; Unter den Linden, the major avenue that runs through Berlin and of course, museum island, classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1999, that harbours a collection of 5 outstanding museums on the banks of the River Spree.

Then you will climb up the Fernsehturm; the highest building in Germany, where you will enjoy a breath-taking 360° view of Berlin.

day 2

Breakfast provided in the youth hostel.

In the morning you shall visit the “Story of Berlin” museum traces the history of the city over 800 years followed by a visit to a bunker built during WW2. Then, discover the district of Ku’damm (local slang word for “Kurfürstendamm”): Berlin’s most popular shopping boulevard. The afternoon ends with a free visit of the Gedächtniskirche: Kaiser Wilhelm I’s Memorial Church.

A midday meal in the form of a packed lunch is provided.

In the afternoon, you will take a guided tour of the Bernauer Straße Wall Documentation Center, which will explain the politico-historical context of the construction of the Berlin wall; that houses remains of the Berlin Wall, also called “Wall of Shame” that was brought down in 1989. Then you shall visit the museum of daily life in the GDR at Kulturbrauerei.

day 3

Breakfast provided in the youth hostel.

Discovery of East Side Gallery, a part of the Berlin Wall that now serves as a support for an exhibition of street art.

Then boat trip on the River Spree that will bring you through the new governmental district, in which several embassies have been built.

A midday meal in the form of a packed lunch is provided.

Climb up to the dome of the Reichstag where you will enjoy the magnificent panoramic view of the city of Berlin. Then you shall visit either the Holocaust Memorial or the Memorial to the murdered Jews of Europe, a monument built in the memory of the millions of Jewish victims during the Holocaust.

day 4

Breakfast is provided in the youth hostel. Change to a new hostel in Munich.

Travel to Nuremberg, a picturesque and medieval town, better known for its tragic link with the Nazi regime.

A midday meal in the form of a packed lunch is provided.

In the afternoon, you will take a walking tour of Nuremberg where you shall discover: St. Sebald Church, the banks of the Peignitz and the “Kettensteg” bridge, a chain suspended bridge, Our Lady’s Church,  Marktplatz and the Beautiful Fountain, … Bus journey to Munich.

day 5

Breakfast is provided in the youth hostel.

Walk through the old town of Munich, where you shall discover Neuhauser Straße, Michaelskirche, a Renaissance-style Jesuit church, Frauenkirche, symbol of Munich with its two huge bells, the Marienplatz with its old Town Hall ​​and the new Town Hall Neues Rathaus, a neogothic construction with it’s famous bell, the Viktualienmarkt, the largest food market in Munich with more than 140 stalls.

A midday meal in the form of a packed lunch is provided.

In the afternoon, discovery of science and technology at the Deutsches Museum. You then have some free time to stroll through the city.

day 6

Breakfast provided in the youth hostel.

Travel to Salzburg. Climb to the Hohensalzburg fortress and visit the monument, and its splendid panoramic view.

A midday meal in the form of a packed lunch is provided.

Guided tour of the city in the footsteps of Mozart, such as the cathedral where Mozart was baptized, the birthplace of Mozart, …

Evening meal and overnight accommodation in your youth hostel in Munich.

DAY 7

Breakfast provided in the youth hostel.

Guided tour of the Bavaria Studios or the Allianz Arena (depending on the game schedule).

A midday meal in the form of a packed lunch is provided.

Depending on flight schedules, you have free time for shopping before travel to Munich Airport
