Schedule

DAY 1

Depending on the flight schedule, optional breakfast, lunch or evening meal can be organized (quotation on demand)

 

Arrival in Reykjavik and transfer to the city center by bus, where you will take your midday meal (not included, but can be organised upon request).

Free visit of the National Museum which traces the history of the country from the Vikings to today.

Evening meal and overnight accommodation in your hostel.

DAY 2

Breakfast served at the youth hostel.

Before a guided tour of southern Iceland. You will stop at Hellisheiði for a magnificent view of the vast southern plains formed by glacial rivers. Then discovery of the ice cap of Eyjafjallajökull.

A packed lunch is provided for your midday meal.

Passage through the splendid waterfalls of Seljalandsfoss and Skógarfoss. You can then discover the black sand beach of Dyrhólaey.

Evening meal and overnight accommodation in your hostel.

DAY 3

Breakfast served at the youth hostel.

Guided tour through the golden circle. Visit of a geothermal power station. Then travel by coach to Hveragerði where you will visit an ultra-modern tomato greenhouse that functions  with geothermal energy. Stop on the road at the Gullfoss Waterfall.

A packed lunch is provided for your midday meal.

In the afternoon, you shall discover Strokkur, one of the most active geysers in the region. Then explore Þingvellir National Park, on the border between the North American and the Eurasian tectonic plates.

Evening meal and overnight accommodation in a hostel.

DAY 4

Breakfast served at the youth hostel.

In the morning, take a guided tour of Reykjavik, the most northerly capital of the world.

A packed lunch is provided for your midday meal.

In the afternoon you will take a guided boat tour of Reykjavik harbour, where you can observe Icelandic wildlife (whales, seals, dolphins and birds).

DAY 5

Breakfast served at the youth hostel.

Excursion to Borganes where you will visit the Settlement Center enabling you to discover the settlement of Iceland and Viking expansion throughout Europe

A packed lunch is provided for your midday meal.

Relaxation at the Blue Lagoon, a thermal center powered by the Svartsengi geothermal plant.

Trip back to Reykjavik and you can spend some free time in the city.

DAY 6

Transfer to Reykjavik airport by coach where you will take your return flights

Depending on your flight schedule, an optional breakfast, lunch or dinner can be organized (quotation upon demand).
