Schedule

DAY 1

Depending on your flight schedule, option breakfast, lunch or free dinner arrangements can be made (quotation upon request)

Arrival in Dublin, and transfer to the hostel.  Guided tour of Dublin passing the monuments and major historical sites of the city.

Dinner and overnight in hostel in the Dublin area.

DAY 2

Breakfast at the hostel. Introduction to Gaelic sports : Hurling, Gaelic football, Gaelic handball, rounders and camogie.

Lunch in the form of a packed lunch

Visit of Croke Park and the Gaelic Sports Museum : the country’s main stadium and home of the GAA (Gaelic Athletic Association), Ireland’s largest sports association. It’s museum explains the history of Gaelic sports and the history of the stadium. Discover the city with the Viking Splash Tours : an original tour of Dublin that brings you through its streets, rivers and canals.

Dinner and night in a hostel in the Dublin area.

DAY 3

Breakfast at the hostel

Free visit to Trinity College, the city’s main university, founded in the 16th century and its impressive library which houses the famous “Book of Kells”.

Visit of the Guinness Store House, a seven-story museum dedicated to the history of the worldwide famous Irish beer.

A packed lunch is supplied

Excursion to Causey Farm : discovery of Irish culture with different workshops (cooking, traditional instruments, traditional Irish dancing, visit of the dairy farm …)

Dinner and overnight stay in hostel in the Dublin area.

DAY 4

Breakfast at the hostel

Departure towards Connemara.

A  packed lunch is supplied

Hike in the Connemara National Park, one of Ireland’s most beautiful national parks stretching over 2,000 hectares.

Followed by a visit the Connemara Heritage & History Center, a typical farmhouse enabling you to discover Irish history and culture.

DAY 5

Breakfast at the hostel

Road to Rossaveal. Full day excursion to the island of Inishmore, the biggest of the three Aran Islands. You will discover the island on provided bicycles, the Worm Hole (natural pool carved into the rock), Fort Dun Aengus, Dún Dúchathair (prehistoric fort) , Killeany Abbey (former monastery) …

A packed lunch is provided. Return to the mainland by ferry in the evening.

DAY 6

Breakfast at the hostel

Excursion to Cliffs of Moher : 8km long, up to 215m high, the wild landscape will simply leave you breathless as you appreciate the beauty and the purity of nature’s work. A stop in the Burren National Park, a rock and limestone plateau near the mountains and the Atlantic Ocean.

A packed lunch is provided.

Travel to Cork or Killarney (depending on accommodation)

Dinner and overnight stay in a youth hostel near Killarney or Cork / or with family in Kenmare or Cork.

DAY 7

Breakfast (hostel or families)

Discovery of the  Peninsula of Dingle, a territory that stretches for more than 160 km where ocean, cliffs, mountains and lakes are entwined to make a unique view of indefinable beauty. Discover Dunquin (Dun Chaoin), an authentic Irish coastal village, then Slea Head, cliff known for its views of the ocean and Blasket Island. Then return by Inch Beach, a Irish beach that stretches out for several kilometers.

A packed lunch is provided.

An afternoon visit of Muckross House (large 65 room mansion in the heart of Killarney National Park) with optional guided tour of the farm and dance and Irish music workshop (open only during certain periods of the year: April Saturday and Sunday and May every day from 13h to 18h). Or Gaelic sports or hiking in Killarney National Park from Muckross : huge national park of lakes, forest, mountains, plains and hills and home to a rich fauna and flora.

DAY 8

Breakfast at the hostel or families

Discovery of the Ring of Kerry, a 180km long circuit between mountains and Irish coast, including a stop at Moll’s Gap, a mountain pass in the Killarney National Park, following on to the “Ladies View” (Killarney Lakes panorama) or an excursion by boat to Garnish Island, known for its subtropical gardens and palm trees and its surroundings colonized by birds and wild seals.

Visit of Sheep’s head, a peninsula appreciated for the wild beauty of its landscapes and its steep cliffs. (visit of a farm + tasting)

DAY 9

Breakfast at the hostel or in families

Free discovery of the city of Cork, an active city in full economic and cultural development, and a visit to choose from: Cork University, Cork City Museum …

A packed lunch is provided

After lunch, travel to Cobh, a typical Irish port village. Visit to Spike Island, an island that has successively hosted a monastery, a prison and a fortress, or the Titanic Experience Cobh, museum that traces the history of the Titanic, or Queenstown Story, exhibition on immigration, the Titanic and Cobh.

DAY 10

Breakfast at the hostel or in families

Free time for your shopping before heading back to Dublin.

A packed lunch is provided

Transfer to Dublin Airport in the afternoon
