Schedule

DAY 1

Depending on the flight schedule, optional breakfast, lunch or evening meal can be organized (quotation on demand)

Arrival in Barcelona airport where you will be picked up by a Spanish coach and transferd from the airport to the center of Barcelona.

 

Time to discover the Boqueria covered market, a lively market famous for its fresh produce and its beautiful colorful stalls, with an educational questionnaire provided by VEFE that enables you to learn about the city through a series of questions that you have to answer.

Then relax on the famous Ramblas, an avenue that crosses the city, from Port Vell to Plaça de Catalunya.

DAY 2

Breakfast provided in the youth hostel.

Visit of the Sagrada Familia, an atypical monument with a unique style created by Gaudi and unfinished to this day. Then, visit of Park Güell, known for its original architecture and its corrugated benches decorated with ceramics, with an educational quiz provided by VEFE.

A packed lunch is provided for your midday meal.

Full tour of Camp Nou (provided there is no training in progress), the Barcelona football stadium (museum, players’ dressing room, access to the stadium). Visit of Casa Batlló, a building built by Gaudi at the beginning of the 20th century, masterpiece of the artist and symbol of modernist style architecture.

DAY 3

Breakfast provided in the hostel.

Day at the Port Aventura amusement park, one of Europe’s largest theme parks with thrilling attractions and amusements (subject to opening calendar).

A packed lunch is provided for your midday meal.

Continue your tour of the park in the afternoon, before traveling back to your hostel where you will enjoy an evening meal, and some well-deserved sleep.

DAY 4

Breakfast provided in the hostel, before heading towards Madrid by coach.

Arrival in Madrid at the end of the afternoon.

DAY 5

Breakfast provided in the hostel

Walking tour of Old Madrid: Plaza Mayor (the most emblematic square of Madrid), Plaza del Sol, Plaza de Cibeles … Then you have some time to relax in the Buen Retiro Park royal gardens, that houses a large pool , statues, a rose garden and two royal palaces.

A packed lunch is provided for your midday meal.

Free visit of the Reina Sofia Art Center, famous for its art collections (Picasso, Dali …) then free visit of the tropical garden of Atocha station, with its tropical greenhouse in which hundreds of turtles live. Tasting of a chocolate con churros, typical Spanish delicacy.

DAY 6

Breakfast provided in the hostel

Free visit of the Prado Museum, which has the most complete collection of Spanish painting in the world but also Flemish and Italian paintings.

A packed lunch is provided for your midday meal.

Travel by coach towards Cordoba, where you will arrive at the end of the afternoon.

DAY 7

Free visit of the Alcazar de los Reyes Cristianos, fortified palace that was accommodated by Christopher Colombus before his departure for the Indies, and its magnificent gardens with fountains, flowers, sculptures, and stylishly cut shrubs …

A packed lunch is provided for your midday meal.

Free visit of the Cathedral Mosque, a particularly unusual building that was originally a Roman temple, then the largest mosque in the world after Mecca before finally being transformed into a cathedral.

Audio guided  tour with headphones (in your native language)  of the Torre de la Calahorra: ancient entry point of the city, that is now the main museum of Andalusia and the lifestyle of its population. Followed by some time in the city that you will discover with the help of an educational document (and a series of questions that you need to answer) provided by VEFE.

day 8

Journey to Seville and upon arrival, some free time to discovery the city (Plaza de España, district of Triana …) with the help of an educational questionnaire offered by VEFE, with a free visit of the city’s Cathedral, the largest Gothic church of Christen culture and of course, Giralda, a tower that offers a breathtaking panoramic view on Seville from the top of its 34 floors.

A packed lunch is provided for your midday meal.

Free time in the Santa Cruz district: the oldest part of the town, where you can observe its charming neighborhood, narrow streets and beautiful monuments. Free visit of the Flamenco Museum, created by a renowned flamenco dancer, with a guided workshop and a special flamenco show.

DAY 9

Breakfast provided at the hostel

Guided tour of the bullring museum,  dedicated to the Spanish art of bullfighting and its history including a visit of the arena. Followed by a tour of Alcazar, a palace with a unique architecture that mixes several civilizations and cultures that are represented by tapestries and mosaics.

A packed lunch is provided for your midday meal.

Depending on flight schedules, you can spend some free time, shopping, before being transferred by coach to Seville airport.
